My Master Plan to Sleep Better

AHHHHHH I’ve been having a very rough day bc I’m so sleep deprived rn. I slept at 4 am and had to wake up for a 9 am class. I’m really fed up with my bad sleeping habits but I haven’t done anything to fix it. I actually cant remember the last time I woke up feeling well rested... So here are some things I found online that im going to try implementing into my routine to hopefully feel more energized and present every day. I’m posting this to keep me accountable \(◦'⌣'◦)/\(◦'⌣'◦)/ 1. Have a consistent sleep schedule. This is hands down going to be the hardest one for me (T⌓T) I’m going to try sleeping by 1 am every night and waking up around 10 am. I think it’ll be hard for me to do this on the weekend since I like being out late, but I’ll definitely try to stick with this during the weekdays. 2. Create a peaceful sleeping environment. I love sleeping with the windows open. I think I fall asleep a lot easier if there’s some white noise in the background. Hearing cars pass by or trees swaying is so relaxing to me. I also put stress relief lotion on my hands before I get into bed. It smells like eucalyptus -my all-time favorite scent!!!! If I’m having a hard time falling asleep, I like to listen to Dominic Fike or watch a vlog on YouTube. 3. Stop eating late at night. ASOPFJEPASJPDI I have a really bad habit of eating at night... When I hang out with my friends, it’s even worse. We always get burgers or tacos at night… I think to prevent myself from eating late at night, I’m going to have a bit of a later dinner than I usually do, just so I’m not starving by the time I’m in bed. If I reallyyyyy have to eat, I’ll have a small snack like milk or bananas (T⌓T) (T⌓T) 4. Take a calming shower or bath. I hope I don’t get hate for this, but I refuse to take a bath. The only thing that kinda makes me want to take one is the fact that I can use a bath bomb, but I’ll probably only take hot showers. I think listening to music in the shower is really fun too. I’m an avid night showerer, so I’m going to try not to shower really late. I think it kinda wakes me up so I’ll shower a little earlier so that I can feel relaxed without feeling awake. 5. Exercise regularly. I don’t lift weights or anything, but I do try to reach 10k steps every day. I like to check how much I’ve walked every day bc it makes me feel accomplished LULZZZ. I hope reaching my 10k step goal every day will help me fall asleep bc I’m able to let my energy out before bed. I also want to incorporate some cardio into my fitness routine. I think that will really tire me out.     Thanks for being so honest about your habits, it made me feel like I'm not alone in this fight !! Sometimes the internet make u forget that it's normal to be messy, but we totally can do it better ☁️🦋
